Manual Cinema: Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About A Terrible Monster Long Beach Theatre reviews
I had chills!
The vocalist did an amazing job of incorporating many of Freddie Mercury's vocal qualities without just being a complete impersonation, and I thoroughly enjoyed The Music of Queen performance. The combination of the band, vocals, and Manual Cinema: Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About A Terrible Monster was electric. All of my favorites were played, and I had chills throughout many of the songs. There wasn't a single moment when I wasn't tapping my feet or nodding my head. My only complaint is that, for the most part, the sound of the Manual Cinema: Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About A Terrible Monster was covered up by the band and vocals. I wish I could have heard them a little bit more. However, this wasn't a detraction from the show; it's just my personal preference.
Avenged Sevenfold was worth the ticket price!
Avenged Sevenfold was ridiculously good, although all the bands on the main stage were good. We caught the end of Hellyeah, and they were good, but we didn't get there early to see the bands on the second stage. The singer's voice was great live, which is always my fear when seeing a band for the first time. Their sound was superb, and the performance was energetic and always changing. The stage set up and props were really cool, with lots of pyro. I would see them again any time, they were worth the hour drive and sitting through some other bands that were good, but I'm not personally a fan of. I've seen A LOT of bands, but they bring it to another level! Manual Cinema: Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About A Terrible Monster was also really good, but in a different way. The singer's voice was great and just what I expected. Their stage set up was cool, with lots of video screens and pyro. I would see them again as well!! All in all a good lineup with some really great talent!
Rebel Heart Tour = Tour of the Year
Madonna was warm, friendly and engaging from start to finish, interacting with the audience and smiling throughout the tour. The setlist is fantastic, including fan favorites like Burning Up, True Blue, La Isla Bonita, Like A Virgin, Love Don't Live Here Anymore, Deeper and Deeper, and Holiday, along with songs from Rebel Heart. Madonna's performances during Holy Water, Living for Love, Heartbreak City, and Rebel Heart are must-see moments.
If you've got floor seats, you'll enjoy amazing close-up views of Madonna using every inch of the stage. The costumes and set design are truly amazing. I had floor seats near the heart (end of stage) and it provided an incredible view.
First off, let me state that I'm a life-long Madonna fan and have attended every live tour except the Girlie Show. Whether you're a long-time fan or not, this tour will not disappoint. It's clear that Madonna still loves performing and the audience still loves supporting her.
Consider listening to her new album along with a few oldies before seeing her live. My niece, nephew-in-law, and I had such a great time at the show that we're thinking of attending when she comes to Texas in January 2026. I danced and sang throughout the entire show, having the time of my life.
Ray LaMontagne ROCKS.
Manual Cinema's performance of Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About A Terrible Monster was truly amazing. Recorded, the artist is exceptional. However, experiencing him live is a different level altogether. The music envelops you in a trance-like state. It has an inexplicable impact on the listener. This concert was unlike any other I have attended. The audience sat and truly listened to the music, creating a unique atmosphere. It wasn't the typical fan-filled, energetic show; instead, it felt more special. The intimate setting of The Beacon further enhanced the experience. Even from the upper balcony, every detail was visible. Despite a lackluster opening act by David Gutter, the main performance by Manual Cinema more than made up for it.
